WALLACE MONUMENT

The afternoon of August 4 began with a bus trip to base of the Wallace Monument. Some people (including Pat) walked up the road path to the monument, but most (including Doug) took the shuttle bus up to the base. Once there, only about 15 persons at a time were permitted to climb up the winding stairs.

Doug took the wrong turn after climbing the monument to the top, and did not catch the shuttle bus. Instead, he walked back down using the road path.

It remained cloudy as we arrived at the small village of Tarbet on Loch Lomond. The group explored the streets during our free time waiting for the cruise.
