ARRIVAL WILLIAM WALLACE STATUE MARISCHAL COLLEGE

BEACH SCENE BEACH BALLROOM

The parade formed at the parking lot and the supporters marched for a final time during the Scotland Tour 2001. At the city square, we had a free afternoon with friends David and Lorna to visit the Ship Museum and a Genealogy Library. The statue in the middle is William Wallace. We met the buses back at Marischal College, the largest granite building ... second to "Escoreal" in Barcelona.

PIT-STOP INVITATION & PROGRAMME LOCAL BAND

DANCING GRAMPIAN POLICE PIPE BAND GRAMPIAN POLICE PIPE BAND

We made our way to the table of Bill Irons and his wife Councillor Maureen Irons JP, where we were invited to sit. The councillor and Pat discussed each others work and found common interests in environmental & women's issues. Bill, an ex-Navy man, collected stamps and was enrolling in a computer class ... so we had plenty to talk about.

The Vice-Provost passed by our table as we were eating the stovies, and heard me quip that I could hear my ancestors talking. He noted that I'd probably hear them again tomorrow after I digested the meal.

The programme proceeded as outlined above, and the bottom row of pictures illustrate the dancing (reels, Gay Gordons, etc) and the music by the Grampian Police Pipe Band. [We have so many pictures, that restraint was required in order not to overload our web space.]
